Hello there, I am AsideOrange, the team leader of WoofWoofStudio. It's a great honor to meet everyone in this capacity, and I also thank you all for your supports!

It has been a week since our Demo was officially released, and I wonder how everyone's experience has been? After about a year of development, the game we worked hard on can finally meet you guys! I've seen many uploaders that I've been following making gameplay videos of our game, and I've received a lot of fan arts and praises. I am very grateful to all the players who love our works; your supports are the greatest motivation for WoofWoofStudio’s progress and the reason for the existence of Kuoye Town.

Although I'm tempted to share many interesting anecdotes from our development period and the creative journey, after some thoughts, I decided not to reveal these things too early! I would rather share with everyone the fun stories we encountered while creating at the end of the entire work, together with my production team partners. So, let's get to the point.

In this developer letter, we will introduce our update plans in detail and explain the sponsorship goals on the AFDian platform. If you wish to support us, please be sure to read on!

1.Update Plans

As of now, we have completed the overall rough outline of "Coronet Of The Sagacious Lord." Including the Demo's approximately 90,000 words, the estimated total text volume of the main story is expected to be around 450,000 to 500,000 words in Chinese.

We have a total of four routes, namely the Yan line "Unyielding Yuusha Of Blazing Flame", the Luo line "Deafening Gunshot Of Revolter Revolver", the Jiang line "Imprisoned Shrike Of Snowy Solitude", and a hidden route that has not yet been disclosed, which will be showed as “not the right time” in the Demo version.


A three-act play is the most basic form of a stage play, and our stage will naturally follow this rule. The above three routes will also have three complete chapters of updates, serving as the first, second, and third acts of the stage. We will gradually release all updates, including the hidden route, in a rotating update format over the next seven updates.

Maybe you will be wondering, ”Hey, AsideOrange? If there are three routes with nine acts, plus that hidden route, that's at least ten updates, right? How did you come up with seven updates to finish it all, bad at math?”

Ah, it's like this: Since the endings of the three routes are currently strongly related to the parts involving the hidden route in the outline, we decided to release all third acts together with the hidden route to provide a better gaming experience. Considering the character popularity feedback from the demo version and the production team's considerations of the difficulty of making certain routes, we will update in the order of "Deafening Gunshot Of Revolter Revolver" → "Unyielding Yuusha Of Blazing Flame" → "Imprisoned Shrike Of Snowy Solitude". Each main update will include about 30,000 to 50,000 words of plot content.

In other words, our basic update plan is as follows:

First Phase:

"Deafening Gunshot Of Revolter Revolver" Act I

"Unyielding Yuusha Of Blazing Flame" Act I

"Imprisoned Shrike Of Snowy Solitude" Act I

Second Phase:

"Deafening Gunshot Of Revolter Revolver" Act II

"Unyielding Yuusha Of Blazing Flame" Act II

"Imprisoned Shrike Of Snowy Solitude" Act II

Third Phase:

Third acts of all three routes + Hidden Route

The hidden route can be unlocked after achieving a specific condition in one of the three routes!

Then, on the stage of "Infinite Tomorrows Of Destined Stage" route which the coronet is kept by Qian who you are playing that everyone has been looking forward to, what kind of role will you play?

So,if you're interested, please be sure to follow us till the game is completed.

Those who have fully experienced the Demo should know that we need to draw a completely new set of clothing differences for all characters in each route, and if the poses of some characters don't match the original illustrations, we may need to redraw the illustrations entirely (like Detective Jiang). That's why the amount of art assets needed for the first act of each route is very large. Therefore, the development cycle for the first phase will be relatively longer.

Since most of the team members are making games in their spare time, to avoid unexpected situations like sudden overtime, we can only make a more relaxed promise. We will finish our first phase of updates in 12 to 15 months which means we will finish each first act of three story phases by every 4 to 5 months . Of course, if we finish it early, we will release it early.

In the second phase, we will speed up the production of the game, and the update cycle will be shortened to 2-3 months for each act, so we will complete the updates of the second phase within 6-9 months.

The amount of content that needs to be produced in the third phase is very large, and we cannot accurately estimate the production time, which may take a whole year or even longer to polish the vast plot content and drafted visual effects of the third phase. However, in all the above phases, if we finish the main version of the production early, we will release the game early.

Sponsors who support us on the AFDian platform can experience the sponsored version content at the earliest, while other players will experience the free public version content with no difference from the sponsored version the next month.

In months without main content updates, we will support some supplementary updates, such as fixing bugs found in the game, optimizing the performance of character illustrations and CGs, and drawing some CGs that were drafted to be implemented but not finished in time. Sponsors who support us on the AFDian platform can get these contents early, while public version players will experience these supplementary updates along with the latest main content when the next public version is released.

Overall, according to the current estimated production time, we will probably complete all content updates of the game by the end of 2027. I know this may be a bit, or even very long, but according to the current production situation, we really don't have the confidence to promise that we can complete the game very quickly. Such a promise made rashly would not only be irresponsible to you players but would also greatly affect our credibility, so we can only estimate a relatively relaxed production time that we should be able to complete the corresponding content, and then make promises based on that.

Of course, to be open and honest, we still very much hope that you can provide us with financial sponsorship, which would help us to be better and faster to complete the game.

Since we're on the topic of sponsorship, let's talk about the content related to sponsorship!

2.About game sponsorship and goals.

Well, keep the lights on with sheer dedication is a very draining passion, and in fact, we often encountered delays in the production schedule due to the depletion of passion during the past year of developing the demo. As a new studio, we also have no ability to provide compensation for our team members. Therefore, under the pressure of reality, we must also consider obtaining funds for game development through some commercial operations.

The goal of WoofWoofStudio is to become a studio that can operate for the long term and be able to create more games in the future, hoping that with your help, we can successfully achieve this goal.

We will currently start a long-term sponsorship goal of 2 years, and you can refer to the picture below for a simple understanding of the improvements we will make to the main game after achieving the sponsorship goals.

We have already detailed our sponsorship goals on the AFDian platform, and you can also visit our AFDian account for more detailed information.

(However, you may have to use WeChat or Alipay for AFDian, which is not so convenient for most people. We do have a Patreon profile but currently it's in WIP status.)

I.Monthly sponsorship

We offer a monthly sponsorship package called "Early Bird Movie Ticket" for 18 yuan per month, which you can subscribe to on AFDian and enjoy the following benefits:

II.One-time purchase of goods:

Due to the payment mechanism of AFDian, we can only obtain your sponsorship amount in the next month's 1-3 working days, so we will contact the factory and arrange for unified shipping in the month after you purchase the goods. If we have sufficient funds in the future to make large orders to enrich the inventory, we will also arrange for early shipping.

For our player overseas:

We do have plans to create an English version, but currently the project team's funding and manpower limitations prevent us from doing so. Additionally, the quality of AI translations has proven unsatisfactory. Therefore, localized versions in English and other languages may need to wait until we secure sufficient resources.
